Vacation Bible School- WHOOOSH!

On July 21-25, Harrisburg First Church of the Brethren will be hosting our annual Vacation Bible School. It will be held during the evenings, from 5:30-8:00 pm. Children aged preschool to 5th grade are welcome to attend, and adults may come as well.

This will be a great time to celebrate with us as we learn about God, play games, sing and dance, learn about African American heritage, make crafts, and enjoy new friends! Our theme is: Take Flight to Where God Leads You!

If you have any questions or would like more information, you may contact Alyssa Parker at or at 717-516-1698.

Annual Multicultural Fest

On May 11, bcmPEACE participated in the annual Multicultural Fest hosted on Derry Street. Service organizations from all over the Allison Hill community gathered to promote the valuable work that they do and ask for support for their services. There were games, food, and live music! It was a wonderful time and many of our youth who participate in our Agape-Satyagraha program helped staff our booth. Thank you for all who came and showed their support!

Walk for bcmPEACE at the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community

On Saturday, May 18, 2019, Highmark sponsored the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community (5k Walk or 1 mile Fun Walk). 48 local nonprofit organizations had the opportunity – at no cost to them – to raise awareness, support, and money for their causes. Highmark arranges the event so that charities can keep all fundraising proceeds. bcmPEACE actively participates in this event- it is always our biggest fundraiser of the year!

We partner with Highmark in order to continue to effectively minister and serve the city of Harrisburg. Our mission is to “serve Allison Hill in becoming a safer, healthier community, empowered by God’s peace.” This mission is achieved by ministry partners like you when you financially support bcmPEACE, volunteer for bcmPEACE programs, spread the message of bcmPEACE through word-of-mouth, and empower bcmPEACE through your faithful prayers. The Highmark Walk is one of many ways community members may demonstrate their support for our organization- work that includes feeding families through our weekly food distribution, educating community youth in the ways of nonviolent conflict resolution, equipping adults with effectively parenting tools, empowering citizens with computer classes and other useful life skills, and keeping kids safe through our KIDS Club.

We had a very successful fundraiser this year, raising twice as much money as last year! We are also still accepting donations until June 28th- Click here to give to bcmPEACE through the Highmark Walk.
